The Vernon Ranch near Evant, Texas is available to a company seeking exclusive use of a facility for HUNTING in one of the most scenic ranch settings in Central Texas. While staying in a fully furnished LODGE, guests may enjoy hunting, fishing and birding or simply meet and relax in a secluded, quiet nature retreat.
The Vernon Ranch is a 2630 acre, low fenced, WORKING CATTLE RANCH located 100 miles NNW of Austin in Coryell County. It has typical "HILL COUNTRY" terrain, a mixture of  rolling hills, canyons and 150 foot high plateaus. There is an abundance of live oak, Spanish oak, pecan, elm, hackberry, cedar and many other varieties of trees and brush. The Vernon Ranch, with Highway 84 frontage and county roads on the other three sides, is in one contiguous block providing easy access and privacy. It is one of the  largest contiguous ranches in Coryell County.
HUNTING AND FISHING available:  whitetail deer, turkey, dove (including white-winged). Also quail, ducks, hogs, coyote, fox and bobcat. Trophy Black Buck antelope are stocked in one pasture. There are over a dozen tanks containing bass and catfish. Sunflower fields are planted each year as supplemental feed for dove.
The Vernon Ranch has been part of the 38,000 acre VISTA MOUNTAIN WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION  (VMWMA) since 1998. VMWMA, sanctioned by Texas Parks and Wildlife, is a cooperative effort by a group of landowners in this area to improve the wildlife population by restoring and improving the natural habitat and by better game management practices.
